[DIPLOMACY] - Governors of border provinces of Balkan and Black Sea countries meet in Turkey
Governors of border provinces of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Estonia, Croatia, Ukraine, Belgium and Turkey will meet in western city of Canakkale on May 24 for the Balkan-Black Sea Regional Commission Meeting of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR).
A total of 130 governors and other high-level executives will discuss inter-regional cooperation opportunities around Black Sea region.
International organizations that are active in Black Sea region, economic challenges in Black Sea basin, inter-regional economic cooperation, maritime transportation will also be discussed at the meeting.
The objective of the CPMR Balkan and Black Sea Regional Commission is to encourage dialogue and cooperation between sub-state spheres of government. The aim is to constitute a lasting institutional framework to support the integration of these areas and improve their relations with the EU in the context of enlargement.
