ECON: OLLDASHI: EIGHT CORRIDOR ADVANTAGE FOR TRANS BALKAN TRANSIT TRAFFIC

TIRANA, December 4 (ATA) - /By E.Xhajanka/ - A study carried out by Eight Corridor Secretariat clearly demonstrates that transit traffic Trans Balkan (by origin and destination outside Balkans ) will have an advantage in cost, if the Eight Corridor and Durrës port are to be used, Minister of Public Work, Transport and Telecommunication Sokol Olldashi said on Tuesday at SEETO meeting. According to Olldashi, regional studies in transport field, are giving optimistic projections for trafficking in infrastructure of main network in our territory, Eight Corridor, North - South corridor and also in Road 7 axis, Durrës Morine that may consider branch or extension of two pan European corridors. According to a poll with road transport operators of Macedonia, Bulgaria and Turkey, Minister Olldashi said, it is seen that the big part of them consider such phenomena as main factors that help to choose for transit longer itineraries. Minister Olldashi stated that Albanian government has taken concrete steps in this direction to create more facilities in transport, firmly supporting program "soft measures" of Multiyear Plan of SEETO.
