BALKAN NEWS AGENCIES GATHER IN ATHENS
Anadolu Agency - English News December 7, 2007 ATHENS (A.A) - 07.12.2007 - The Association of the Balkan News Agencies (ABNA) held its 17th General Assembly meeting on Friday in Greek capital Athens. Athens News Agency and Macedonia News Agency hosted this years meeting where Turkey's Anadolu Agency (A.A) was represented by Director General Dr. Hilmi Bengi and Deputy Director General Tahsin Akti. The meeting agreed that Serbian News Agency (TANJUG) would take over the rotating presidency of the association on January 1, 2008. ABNA was established in 1995, aiming both at the development of full-scale cooperation between the region's news agencies, and aspiring to contribute to peace, friendship, security and cooperation in the region. Anadolu Agency (Turkey), Athens News Agency, Albanian News Agency, Bulgarian News Agency, Macedonian Press Agency, Romanian News Agency (ROMPRESS), Serbian News Agency (TANJUG), Croatian News Agency (HINA), Bosnia-Herzegovina News Agencies (FENA-SRNA), Montenegrin News Agency (MINA) participated at the meeting.
