National History Museum Unveils Enriched Exhibition of Third Bulgarian Kingdom
Sofia, December 21 (BTA) - The National History Museum opens Friday a redesigned and enriched exhibition titled "Third Bulgarian Kingdom 1878-1946", the museum said.
The exhibition is divided thematically into various subjects - the Congress of Berlin (1878), the temporary Russian administration, the Constituent Assembly, the choice of Prince Alexander Battenberg as Prince of Bulgaria and the appointment of the first Bulgarian government, the Unification of Eastern Roumelia and the Principality of Bulgaria. Other subjects include the Serbo-Bulgarian War (1885), the revolt on St. Elijah's Day (1903), the declaration of Bulgaria's independence (1908), economy, wars for national unification, the events in 1923-1925, World War II (1939-1945), the salvation of Bulgarian Jews, the proclamation of the Kingdom of Bulgaria as a people's republic (1946), as well as education, science and culture.
The exhibition will feature more than 850 items, most of which will be on show for the first time. Documentaries from the period and ones dedicated to it will also be on show.
